This world-renowned artist and fashion designer witnessed his mother’s death and vowed never to let her memory fade.

Ever since that time, he has changed himself many times, keeping his promise in a really impressive way.

In the fashion scene, there are lots of unique characters, but not many are as over-the-top as Harald Glööckler. Even though his name might not ring a bell for everyone, his bold face, usually full of makeup and eye-catching style, frequently appears in gossip magazines.

The path to success and fame hasn’t been easy for Harald Glööckler. His journey has been filled with hard work and a tough childhood that helped shape who he is today.

Traumatic upbringing

Every kid should have a safe and caring childhood, but that wasn’t the case for Harald Glööckler when he was growing up in southern Germany. His dad was not only abusive but also struggled with alcoholism, which really affected Harald’s early years in a negative way.

”A zombie movie is more beautiful than my childhood,” he told Bild in 2009.

Young Harald had a really tough life. Not only did he have to deal with a mean and hurtful dad, but he also faced the sadness of losing his mom in a terrible way. When he was only 13, his mother passed away after a strange fall down the stairs, and the officials said it was just an accident.

Harald shared a shocking part of his past. He said, “When I was 13, I saw my dad kill my mom.” He explained that his dad pushed her down the stairs. “That was the day my childhood was over.”

After that day, Harald didn’t say a word to his dad for the next 13 years, not even once, until his dad died in 1992.

Sadly, when Harald was only six years old, a family friend hurt him in a really bad way during a trip. He didn’t talk about it because his home life was already so difficult.

“It took me many years to understand that it wasn’t my fault,” he said.
